What is Blaze?
Blaze is a free Content Management System built using CodeIgniter, a PHP Framework.
It’s currently in a very earlier ‘alpha’, ‘proof of concept’ stage, but hopefully, in the next few weeks, we should have an early 1.0 release for you all to try out.
Blaze strives to be:
- A Free and fairly licensed CMS
- Easy to Use
- Flexible
- Scalable
- Sexy

Licensed?
Hi Elliot, I try version 0.82 and what’s is default user and password? for admin interfaces?
Thanks
Jauhari,
I was having the same problem. I went in and manually changed the password. If you enter the string below into the password field of the admin user, your password will be ‘test’ (without the quotes, of course).

Admin panel really looks sexy, but can you guys provide a demo site.
What exactly of license is required?
:Жесть!! :):
Hi Elliot,
I have downloaded 0.91 & already follow your install.txt carefully. But, I found it couldn’t help me installing Blaze. The index page already shown up, but all the links there didn’t work, includes CSS & Javascript. Please provide me a solution for this problem.
Thanks before..
Hello,
I have the same problem as Enggal. I noticed that there’s no theme included in the install.
zilverdistel@localhost:/www/blaze$ ls -R static/
static/:
uploads
static/uploads:
As you can see, the directory static is completely empty. Also, the .htaccess file wasn’t included. That is not such a big problem, as I found it on your site (http://blaze.haughin.com/2008/02/22/htaccess-file/).
grts,
silver
I would be interested in contributing a module or 2, but I’d like to find out more about the license. Is this an open source project?
Can you just make an open-source clone of expression engine?
Another vote for revealing which license you plan to use. I may be able to contribute as part of my work if this is open source.
Blaze is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works 2.0 UK: England & Wales License
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/2.0/uk/
“No Derivative Works?” That seems needlessly restrictive, and might be OK for images, music and the like, but not source code, IMO. Good luck with that licence.
this is cool, but in the install.txt you mentioned a .htaccess file but i cant find it.
I agree, BSD would be more suited.
Спасибо!
Thanks, very nice CMS, look will wait out the first stable version…
i mean v 1.0 =))

Are you sure about the licence? “You may not alter, transform, or build upon this work.”
Surely that’s the whole point of using something like CodeIgniter, to build upon your code to make something that fits our needs exactly, with the benefit of a great framework like CI.
