Contributions Needed
Hello again!
After looking at the ideas in the Roadmap post, I’ve decided, that there is a need to have other contributors in the project. So, I’m looking for people who fit into these categories:
- Slick Designers - someone who can build a kick-ass, clean, intuitive, web-2.0 backend design… and a nice front-end design to go with it.
- Translators - the whole of the blaze system is going to be multi-lingual. I’ve already started porting the views over to the new multi-lingual system. I need people who can translate the language files into other languages.
- CodeIgniter Gurus - people who love CI, and have solid, efficient, and kick-ass programming techniques.
If you think you’re good at what you do, and you want to use your skills to build Blaze… Let me know.
Post a comment with what you do, and some examples of your work (translators don’t bother… you don’t need to prove you can speak your native language!).
Post them in the comments so the rest of the community can get excited about some of the talent that may be joining this project.
I’m moving the SVN over to my new dedicated server, which will let me give public svn access… as well as a ‘bleeding edge’ demo.
Edit: Demo now available! - See link in sidebar >>>

Bulgarian Transltion and some modules …
Regards
I’m definitely up for the German translation.
On the development side I’ve been pretty busy with SimplyPost. I’ve thought about porting it to Blaze, but the license gets in the way.
A brit displaying Uncle Sam on his blog. It’s treason!
I will gladly help making this a great CMS!
I’ve been buildning a CMS on CI for some time, but it is for the moment put on hold, so I have learned a lot of things about CI.
I’m pretty good at PHP (surely definetly I’m not the best one) and I can also use MySQL (through CI), I’ve also got some design experience.
And if you need a Swedish translation, I will gladly do one.
Just let me know and I try to translate into Polish language.
I can translate it and localize it for persian(Farsi) users.
Hi, I’m a php(5)-developer and have a lot of experience with CI. I’m looking for a serious project to jump in, maybe I can help programming BlazeCMS. Contact me …
Hey Elliot, I can help with the Dutch translation. Just let me know.
I’ll try to translate into Turkish language.
Hey Elliot,
Blaze’s admin section is looking very nice, but if you’re looking for constructive criticism, I think it’s counter-intuitive to have the “Save” and “Cancel” buttons at the top.
project is opensource, so everybody can try to help. Right?
Hello Elliot.
I can translate the CMS in French.
Hello again.
I have already a CMS based on CodeIgniter, just for private use.
But unfortunately, I never had a look to modular developement with CI.
I just started the complete re-coding of this CMS, based on your template approach and on the Matchbox librairy. For the back-end, the CMS will look near the very nice “Breeze” CMS.
Perhaps can I help on development or the backend-design also.
Some websites using the current CMS :

http://www.maitemusic.com

Count me in for the SPANISH translation of Blaze.
It would help if you included the style sheets in the static folder in the zip you supply for the download. Currently i am linking to your demo ones so i can test out blaze, not the best solution but a temporary one at that.
Ah i see what you’ve done. You have since moved all the style sheets to their own folders in the modules yet the header links all point to the previous ones.
Count me in for the INDONESIAN translation of Blaze.
I can translate Blaze to Russian
This project is opensource, then come try to help. lol
skilz{css:great}
xhtml
I can help!
Elliot, I like it a lot but I cannot help but think that the heavy use of .htaccess is a poor policy. Can’t these things be routed differently? Should every method that can be used really be listed in the .htaccess file? Doesn’t that make it extremely difficult to hack the CMS on your own?
Why not just use private _functions() in controllers if you’re trying to protect those methods from being used?
3 of 19 commenters will help with design, but in the event you need another set of hands, please holler.
About the design.
I think the current backend looks perfect, it is very clean and easy to use.
My wish is that we put as much effort on the design of the backend as we do on the code and it´s functions. One reason I hate for example Wordpress is that is butt ugly and buggy in the backend.
Addition to my wishlist:
1. Template based frontend system (perhaps smarty).
2. Ability to keep different versions of all pages so that it is possible to undo.
3. Possibility to publish RSS feeds.
4. News function with RSS feature.
5. It would be very cool if it was possible to “build” the content of a page “brick by brick”. I.e First brick could be a header, next brick could be the text, after that a link brick is added and so on. This technique offers the possiblity to change the position of each part of the content.
6. Possiblity to build web forms to be use on contact pages for example.
I have been going through your tutorials hoping to get a handle on codeigniter to build a new portfolio site for myself. I will gladly pay that back by doing some themes for Blaze. Keep up the good work!
Hi guys, i’m a newby here and i need some help whit this great CMS. i’m just download the newest version and i install it on localhost but it does’t work. when i try to go on admin page i recive a 404 error message. pleeze help me thanks
Is version 1.0 available for download anywhere? any plans to put this bad boy on sourceforge or google code?
Would like to contribute in any way, especially since using a modulair design can help to let it grow as a standard backend for all kinds of web apps.
Only hope is that you will not use a bloated template system as Smarty. Its pretty useless since PHP itself is a great template language.
Perhaps it is a nice idea to have a look at the current Ignited Code elements (like Matchbox) around, and to incorporate some more of these into Blaze.
I like to help, I’ve a little web development enterprise with a designer an 4 programmers…
also we can translate into spanish and italian.
I really like your background design, maybe you just need a hand for frontend.
Is this project dead ? No update in last one month and the last version is corrupted nor completed (no css inside)
I can help with czech translation…
I can translate the system to dutch if you want…
Contact me asap if you are interested…
New Version of Codeigniter has been published (1.6.2)! Now If you want to be updated you must hack again some files of this version to enable working blaze on CI-1.6.2 , As I Already said in previous post, I think it is better don’t use modular method until codeigniter change its way, What do you think?
Multiple frontend languages, you can insert a post in different language’s.
Contact form module
Mailinglist module
Inline editting
Role management. (role for clients, easy interface)
Image upload ( specified dimensiones/page, so image wil be cropped correctly)
Simple and complex input editor
sorry for the 2 posts.
Can we share with us?
Post download link pls

Hey Elliot,
I am a PHP developer with 4 years of experience, and I have been using CodeIgniter for one year. I am frequently active on the forums, and put simply, I love programming.
I am the Creative Lead on the InkType project, and I am currently helping developer13 to program in AJAX features, along with designing themes.
I also frequently write tutorials on my website (which is currently down due to some major web host issues).
Thanks,
Jamie Rumbelow
How many days to go mate? Any updates would be gr8.
Do you need an Italian translation?
I can try, I wanna try…
Anyway, great work…
I will be able to do some design work, drop me an email and we can work something out.
I’ve been using CodeIgniter for a while now.
I’d like to contribute to Blaze. i18n, front-end coding( jquery ), some modules.
Best wishes
Any news about this project? It seems to be in a deep sleep, isn’t it?
I’d be willing to do the Dutch translation if nobody has already been found to do so.
Time to write off this project as DOA I’m afraid. A shame really cause it looked promising.
Hi,

I’d be more then happy to help. With the CMS, or just a Dutch translation.
I could have a stab at trying to to design a better layout, but I think it’s just great the way it is at the moment!
